Elementary (K-5)
Our Elementary school, grades one through five, provides a dynamic environment that offers a multitude of opportunities designed to:
build knowledge
discover interests
foster social and emotional development
encourage leadership
create a joy for learning
During elementary school students work toward becoming independent learners and develop an ability to think critically, make connections, and build upon their educational foundation.
Marble Valley is a "work hard, play hard" community where academic challenge and rigor is balanced with fun and rewarding opportunities. The elementary school offers a strong sense of community in a nurturing environment with annual events and activities. The systematic spiraling curriculum at MVA balances phonics and authentic literature with specific skill instruction. Focus areas are grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and penmanship.
Decoding, encoding, comprehension, and a broad range of reading, writing and language skills are thoroughly taught. Science and social studies, Spanish, fine arts, character education and music instruction make each school day purposeful and enjoyable. Along with our small class sizes, individual needs are met through flexible grouping, attention to multiple intelligences and curriculum modification including enrichment. Students are actively involved in problem solving, critical thinking, and applications of academic studies. Our comprehensive program creates well-rounded students who leave elementary school with the necessary foundation and confidence to succeed at the next level of education.
